MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — In a remarkable rescue effort, over 200 cats have been saved following a resident’s appeal for assistance. The individual had been feeding local strays but found the cat population growing uncontrollably due to inadequate spaying and neutering efforts.
Upon reaching out to Manatee County, it was determined that despite the overwhelming number of cats, most were in surprisingly good health. Manatee County Animal Welfare (MCAW) successfully rescued 204 cats, transferring them to shelters and rescues throughout Florida.
MCAW is now actively seeking community involvement to facilitate the next phase: fostering and adopting these rescued cats. Interested individuals can learn more about how to help by visiting Manatee County Animal Welfare or by calling 941-742-5933.
“You know, it might just be time we take a look if HOAs are really even necessary.
Maybe we should just do away with homeowner associations as a whole.”
South Florida lawmaker Rep. Juan Carlos Porras (R-Miami) is considering proposing legislation to abolish homeowner associations (HOAs) statewide, addressing growing concerns about rising fees, expensive lawsuits, and arrests related to HOA conflicts.
